Ranger / ele Ele / Nec Monk / Mes War / Ele Are these good combinations why and why not and or would you change them to something else . Also, if you change your secondary profession do you have to re gain all skills for the secondary and what if you go back to the skills that you already had come back ????? |

Any class combination can work for different reasons. If someone tells you otherwise, then they simply haven't found a way to make it work for them.
You regain your skills when you change secondaries. |

a little creativity can go a long way to making almost any combination work. with regards to your combinations, here are my comments: r/e - this is popular for spike rangers. using one of the conjure element skills and an elemental string can boost your damage output. e/n - not very popular, but i see a lot of different builds you can do with it. the possibilities are endless. mo/me - another popular combination, as the mesmer secondary can give you good options for energy management. w/e - one of my personal favorites. the possibilities for different builds gives you a lot of room to play around in. basically, if those are the combos that you want to use, i say go for it. you can't go wrong. |

My main character is a W/E (strictly PvE) and I love her. I've logged hundreds of hours playing this one. I haven't played the monk or elemental ones, but almost any build can work if you are willing to experiment a little. Even then, you have several options within each build. One of the best things I like about this game is the ability to change attributes so easily in town. If I want to be a defensive stance tank or an offensive damage spiker, it's just a few minutes to equip the right skills and weapons and off I go.
My husband's main is a R/E. He's always playing with combinations as well. |

Few responses cuz it's a balanced game..any combo is "good" it's the setup of a build which can be bad.
You also didn't specify if yer meaning PvE or PvP. |

i got a ranger/ele
been playing her for some months. I rarly use any ele skils (due to lack of skill space as i take my Lizzy (lizard pet)everywhere) and use her as a sort of tank. I found alot of the early on ele skills seemed to take up too much energy . |

One thing to keep in mind is if you even think you will do PvP then only plan for 3 PvE characters and save the 4th spot for a PvP toon. If that is the case, then plan on the 3 you do use for PvE to cover all 6 professions.
